I took the actual photo that this painting is based off of at a horse show in Upperville, Virginia in a class of Cleveland Bay horses. I loved how all of the horses were so relaxed with their ears forward, but you really can't see any of the human faces. Everything is about the horses. I also love using the gray scale of India Ink for my horse pieces because I think it adds a more noble quality and dimension to the class and distinction of these horses.
