"After years of painting only in a black and white gray scale of India Ink, I recently delved into doing colorful acrylics of the summer sunsets I see every evening on my farm. For years, I was convinced that I could only work in black and white due to some remaining deficits in my vision from a brain tumor found about 4 years ago. That experience taught me how precious the gift of sight was and this was what caused me to really throw myself back into doing art work, but it's only been recently that I have truly fallen in love with doing colorful paintings of the everyday scenes that may seem simple to some, but mean so much to me. Both of these paintings are based on actual sunsets I see on my horse farm each and every evening."
