'Self-Image-Portrait' is a self portrait which shows my innermost feelings of depression, anxiety and angst. I may be smiling on the outside, but my mind is filled with self-doubt and self-hatred which tear at my body and my soul which I've destroyed with sin and addiction and descended into my own personal cell. The stairway up and out of my darkness is always there, and obvious to anyone else looking at me; but like so many others struggling with these demons, I fail to recognize it. This is a mixed-media piece containing watercolor, ink, watercolor pencil and candle wax on archival watercolor paper.
