See No Evil - Kim Hurt

As climate change gradually creeps upon us, human beings tend to adjust to the new normal and do not recognize rising sea levels, extended hurricane seasons, ect for what they are: signals to take heed and make changes. A plea from a wounded earth to restore a livable order to our world. With this piece I wanted to explore the concepts of willing ignorance and cognitive dissonance, how does a person ignore the facts and evidence around them and why? I want the viewer to look inward and ask in what way and in what circumstances am I doing this in my own life?
