This piece celebrates the majestic aspen with a view from the perspective of the base of the trees looking skyward. Aspens fascinate with their grayish-white, smooth bark and clean lines. In their translation to cloth, I strove to honor shape, angle, and exterior lines while experimenting with color and texture. The tightly quilted green is juxtaposed against a smooth backdrop of hot orange. Original inspiration photograph also composed by the artist.
