Mandala Collage II - Mary Bast

Mixed media, framed: hand-colored / hand-cut paper on 3/4" deep canvas
12" x 12" x 3/4" (frame is 1.25" deep)
 
To manage the anxieties of isolation, I began coloring mandalas to accompany daily mantra meditation (Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya). Gradually, I realized I was also creating some beautiful art paper to use in collages and other mixed media works. "Mandala II" is composed of many layers of overlapping mandala centers in multiple colors.
