This piece started with a sketch I made while I was camping, sitting, by the fire, and enjoying being on my own. I started the painting on December 17th, 2021. On February 19th, 2022, I finished the painting. Along the way I took photos of it changing, shifting, and coming together. This piece celebrates a closed system that is creating what it needs to grow and sustain stability. Sacrifice, pain, and death are part of the natural cycle. This painting fit well in this show because it is about embracing a process and following it to see where it leads.
