Patch of Lupines- Andra Stanton

Fabric and Thread
10" x 6" x 6"

Acknowledging grief but also gratitude in daily life, I stitch the surfaces of my pieces with patterns that suggest my history, which has been colored by an early loss of good health. Each object I create represents moments of meditation on both the safety of solitude and the joy of connection to friends and nature. My need to compose, to sit quietly with my feelings as I find a way to bring objects of visual satisfaction to fruition, fuels my imagination.
