After experimenting with colorful acrylics doing sunset paintings, I decided to branch out and try florals. I love the depth and intricacy of amaryllis flowers and thought they would be the perfect subject to paint. The center of the flower looks to me like you could get lost in its depth, hence the name Amaryllis Abyss.
